Rahulv Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Scored a decent 312 ( Q160,V152, AWA 3.5) in GRE and being a Mechanical Engineering Applicant aspire to pounce on US universities ranked between 51-100. Little bit about my "historical titbits": A design engineer by profession, Two internships (Content writing and latter Business development), One Research paper and other "noteworthy" extracurricular activities during my undergraduation. I think all my cards are on the table. The universities i have selected to enroll are: 1. North Carolina SU 2. Arizona SU 3. University of Chicago, Illinois 4. University of Texas A&M 5. University of Houston. Guys, i have a gut feeling that someone out of those 5 will surely call on me. But its better if i can ask you for some suggestions and "other" recommendations. Thanks!
Texan_Air Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) Choose an engineering school that best meets your interests and financial needs. I'm a first year masters student at North Carolina State, and you will like the area and the school. Only negative I see is my friends have trouble getting under a adviser for their thesis, so be prepared for the competition. I'm also familiar with your two Texas schools you choose. Texas A&M is a very good school (for their aerospace engineering they want a combined GRE score above 320), but it's tough to get in (also they take till May to tell if your admitted). I'm curious on why you choose University of Houston though, and I actually preferred University of Texas at Arlington over it. When I visited University of Houston it's engineering program just seemed small in comparison but it's in the giant city of Houston so it has that going for it. Edited December 31, 2015 by Texan_Air
