panletitbe Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Hi everyone, I know it might be a little bit early to ask this, but since I got an offer from UCR for statistics PhD program, anyone familiar with the school, department or the city? I'm currently in Michigan, it seems Riverside is a nice city close to LA and San Diego, and the department is relatively small. I heard some words about RC Riverside, and it turns out for undergraduate, it's not that good, how about for PhD? Thanks in advance if I can hear some useful information.
jaymeowmeow Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I wish I could help you, but I probably know as much about the program as you do.. I applied there too and haven't heard back from them yet. Congratulations! I'm guessing if you hear from other schools, they might be, on paper, better options than Riverside. But really, a visit is the only way you'll know if you like it! I'm from Southern California, and Riverside is the uber hot valley/desert part of the LA region. I have never been a fan, but I heard it has developed quite nicely in recent years. So, there is a lot more to do now! Good luck!
