Jennszoo
Trying not to stress but my GRE is Weds, my son is knee deep in H1N1 and I seem to be going from "mild head cold" to downhill fast. If'n I actually get the flu, I cant imagine I would be in any way able to take the GRE. I wonder what happens if I have to reschedule. Am I (potentially) screwed? I rescheduled it twice because I was ill. It is simple, but you can only do it three days before the test, not including the day of test or the day you reschedule, so do it ASAP. Just go on the site and reschedule it, it is $50 but it is worth it. Nothing happens if you reschedule, except for the fee. So if you are not feeling well I highly suggest you do it. Jennszoo
I was afraid of that. Pretty much means I need to reschedule today since the test is weds. I feel fine now, but who knows how I will feel tomorrow or into next week. Sigh. I think I will take my chances and shotgun the TamiFlu if I do catch it. Thanks for the info. glasses
I was afraid of that. Pretty much means I need to reschedule today since the test is weds. This is totally unsolicited advice, but the second I saw Tamiflu I had to say something: O.K., so I was prescribed Tamiflu a few months ago because I had the flu and I have a somewhat compromised immune system. The good news: it got rid of my flu symptoms in about two days. The bad news: they aren't lying when they say that severe nausea and stomach pain are possible side effects. I had both for the entire length of the treatment, and they were so bad that I felt as bad as I had with the flu, albeit in an entirely different way. The violent urge to vomit was a half-hourly occurrence (and sometimes preceded honest-to-god vomit), and the stomach cramps were double-over bad. Really, really not GRE-worthy conditions. If this was a subject test we were talking about, you'd have no choice, so you'd have to go for the better of two evils (I know this first-hand: I had a beastly cold when I was taking a subject GRE earlier this month!). But, since this is the regular GRE and you can reschedule, I'd really, really recommend that you do so. Good luck!
