Waitlisted and still waiting...

I was waitlisted and notified about a month ago. I responded to the original email and told the director that I was grateful and excited about the opportunity. He said he hoped to have more information for me soon but it has been a month and the April 15th deadline is quickly approaching. I am wondering if I should send another email to reiterate my interest in the program? And in that email should I also ask for any updates even though he basically told me that he would contact me if there were updates? 

This school is my top choice. Although I am on the waitlist, I do believe it is a very small list or that I am near the top of it as the original email told me that there was a good chance I would be offered admission.

If it were me I would wait a bit longer before requesting info. I've only heard back from about half of the schools that I've applied to- so chances are that the admittees to your program aren't ready to start turning down schools yet. We still have a month and a half to go!

I agree. I got my waitlist email at the end of January and still haven't heard back. I think most of the admitees are also in the same situation. Still waiting to get off the waitlist or waiting to hear the "confirmed" rejections. I know you feel anxious but give it 2-3 weeks. (But it's hard! I get up everyday wishing my mailbox has THE letter.)

I'm waitlisted at every program I interviewed with. It sucks to be waitlisted, and it sucks waiting for people to make a decision. I plan on following up with my top choices toward the end of March restating my interest and asking if there have been any changes. It's tough, but hang in there. Hope the best for all of us.
