What's your current experience like?

Hello everyone! 

Now that I've officially lost all chances of admittance into a clinical program this year (and am now thinking about future programs to apply to this next time around), I want to ask all of you current graduate students what your experience in the program/town has been like so far. Again, I'm applying to a clinical program, however, I imagine that this information could be useful to applicants in other fields as well, so please feel free to post, even if you are in another discipline. 

Specifically, I'm interested to hear about the vibe of the program, its faculty, funding opportunities, and the overall feel of the university. In addition, I'm also interested to hear about your personal experiences in regards to living in the area that the university is located in (e.g., what is the cost of living like, what are the people like, what is the weather like?). I also want to emphasize that, I understand that program fit is typically the deciding factor when applying to graduate programs in psychology, but I think it would be beneficial to get the opinions of others who are also (more than likely) moving to a completely different state. After all, five to six years is still a substantial amount of years of our lives. 

In case anyone is wondering, this interest came to me after attending an interview to a program that I initially thought to be a last resort. As it turns out, I loved everything about the program, faculty, town, its people, and the state which I first imagined to be bleak and uneventful. I should also mention that I spent most of my life in Japan, Guam, and Hawaii, so I have little knowledge about many of the cities in the continental U.S., so go easy on me please.
