Tara Eicher Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 So, I applied to the Computer Science and Machine Learning programs (PhD) as well as for CNBC, and I haven't heard anything back from any of the programs yet. I know that the ML department already had an open house for accepted PhD students, which leads me to believe I was rejected. However, I also saw some people post that they were already rejected from the ML program, so I don't know what to think! Anyone have a clue what this lack of response might indicate?
RecommendedByGuyFieri Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 You areĀ a strong enough candidate for the programs to refrain from rejecting you outright, but you are not strong enough (or not a good enough fit) to have been selected in their current rounds of acceptances. If enough candidates accept their admissions offer soon, they will finally reject you. But they may not, and they may ask you to attend. So you're still in the running. From reading here and the gradadmission subreddit, I'd say that's the consensus on your situation. I'm in the same boat with three of my programs. Good luck! Tara Eicher 1
