rcooray1 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) I was recently admitted to both SIS (International Development Management) and SAIS Bologna (International Development) and I am having a hard time making a decision. I know that SIAS has a stronger reputation and the idea of spending a year in Italy sounds amazing, but it is much more financially prudent for me to go to SIS. Anyone else have similar issues? irapplicant1776 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Faced with the exact same dilemma. I've emailed people working in my desired field to see what advice they have. Still waiting to hear back. From 2013: It's worth noting that this year and last year, SIS had more Presidential Management Fellowship finalists than any other school in the U.S. Although it's not as highly regarded as the other big three in DC, AU is a great school. Also, AU's International Development program is one of the best. I'd go to SIS. Edited March 13, 2016 by irapplicant1776
amccjl Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I turned down SAIS and Georgetown for SIS (although I'm not in your exact program). Having friends at SAIS, I know it isn't any more rigorous and honestly no one cares about rank anymore. Best not to come out with a ton of debt. monocle 1
