catilina Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I have been undecided whether to apply to graduate school in English or History, and signed up to take the English Subject Test months ago. I took it in October, did pretty well (730), and had the scores sent to five schools. I wish I had thought ahead and not sent the scores anywhere. Of course, I've now decided to apply to all those school in History, and I'm worried about how it is going to look to have subject test scores from another field on the report. Anyone else in this situation?
kiripin Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I'm curious about this too. I took the English Lit GRE in 2007 and bombed it (530). Now I'm applying to a completely different field--interaction design/new media. GRE scores aren't even required in my case, so I'm wondering if I can just include my decent GRE scores and just leave the English Lit off. I think it's probably best to ask the department about it.
catilina Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 When you order additional score reports you can specify that they send only the general test scores. My problem is that I sent the scores to the schools when I took the test, so they already have them. I'm concerned it will make it look like I'm uncommitted to History.
