Bphil and Mphil with an MA

Is it appropriate to seek a Bphil or an Mphil after acquiring a US MA?

I think it would be appropriate if only because English undergraduate degrees in philosophy teach you more then American ones since they are more focused.

My main concern with the Bphil is the lack of funding and the fact that you probably won't be able to continue to the dphil afterwords.
