I denied my acceptance (no deferrals allowed) but I've had a change of heart - help!

I was admitted into the Masters of Public Affairs program at UT Austin's LBJ School. At the time I was also offered a great job working at a startup here in Chicago. Since UT does not allow deferrals I declined admission. Turns out the job was not the right fit and I've had a change of heart. What do you think is the likelihood of them giving me a second chance for the fall? Any advice for writing a letter (regarding this issue) to the admissions counselor & the professor I intended to research under would be greatly appreciated!

Write to your department and ask them what they suggest you do. Just tell them what you said here, and be very polite. Make sure to tell them that you didn't make your decision lightly, and that you wanted to give them plenty of time to offer a spot to other applicants (unless you declined within a week or two of the final deadline, then just say the part about not making your decision lightly, but nothing about giving them time!)

Edit to add: and don't quit the job until you have another one or until you get this acceptance!

Good luck.
