JChu Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Hi guys, I just graduated from my art education master's program. My long-term goal is to get a PhD in fields like visual cultural studies (still not very clear). But as I don't have much art history or cultural studies background, (I did take four art history-related courses) I am wondering if I should get a MA in art history first. Currently, I am considering two programs for fall 2017: the MODA at Columbia and Curatorial Studies at Bard. Can anyone share their experiences of applying for the schools? Can it lead me to a Phd? Or should I jump directly to a PhD? I am quite interested about the PhD program at Rochester (Visual & Cultural Studies), but I am not sure if i am ready for it. I appreciate your advices!
