chem.bug Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Hi all, This question might have been asked before but I would be glad if someone could quickly share their insight. I am applying for Masters in chemical engineering in Canada, most of them which require prior contact to a potential supervisor. My question is: Can I email more than one professor in the same department with closely related research interests? I have already emailed one professor and despite a gentle reminder, haven't heard from him for 3 weeks now, can I move on and send an inquiry email to another prof? Thanks! your help is much appreciatedĀ
Edotdl Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Sure, you can even email multiple professors "at the same time", given that you aren't just spamming them with a generic email. You won't know who's the best fit for you until you've spoken with them and get a feel for their current research, personality, etc. Disclaimer: I only have experience with PhD programs in the US.
