Type of Undergrad Institution: Top 10 public university in the US
Major(s)/Minor(s): BA Political Science
Undergrad GPA: 3.96 (4.0 polisci, summa cum laude + PBK)
Type of Grad: N/A
Grad GPA: N/A
GRE: V169 / Q165 / A 5.5
Any Special Courses: Honors thesis related to my graduate study interests, econometrics, advanced quantitative methods in political science
Letters of Recommendation: 1 from a tenure track professor I worked with for 3 years and still keep in touch, should be very strong

1 from a longtime tenured professor who I worked with for 3 years and thinks highly of my work, should be strong

1 not sure - could ask another professor or could ask a former supervisor who has a PhD from a top political science program where I'll be applying

Research Experience: Worked in an applied political science/data analysis field for two years, wrote an honors thesis, have a different working paper on a topic related to my area of interest, poster presentations at two large conferences, worked in an undergraduate research lab for two years

Teaching Experience: Assisted with two R statistical computing workshops

Subfield/Research Interests: Quantitative methods, American

Other: Have been out of college for two years - currently working in data science that applies some of the quantitative methods developed in political science

My questions: Letter of rec from a third professor or someone I've worked with who also has a PhD and academic experience? How to frame my work after graduation? Chances for a top methods program?

Holy moly, am I jealous. I wish I had half your profile when I was applying. I would say that you should get the letter from the person with the PhD and who has researched with you in an academic capacity. You don't need to work hard to frame your work experience as anything other than the methods training that made you want to be a methodologist. Your chances are great.
