I'm applying to bioengineering PhD programs this fall and am focusing on labs that specialize in cell and tissue engineering. Which Tier 2 bioengineering programs should I look into? I'm planning on applying to 2-3 top 10 programs (I haven't decided on these programs yet) and 10-12 tier 2 programs. I have a cumulative 3.52 GPA and got a 166Q/165V/3.5AW on the general GRE exam. I have 3 semesters of research experience (no publications or poster presentations) and secured letters of recommendation from two of my previous professors (I'm still waiting to hear back from my former PI - it's been roughly two weeks since I last emailed him with a brief summary of my research). Also, once I've decided on which programs I'm applying to, how should I notify my professors (i.e. send them a list of programs as a Word doc, etc.)?
