singsangsung Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hi all, I'm new to this forum, hope I'm posting in the right forum. I'm looking at the IHEID program in development studies. Looked at the decision search results, and see one person claims IHEID only accept American and French. A bit of Facebook stalking seems to show that everyone is either American or European. Has anyone been accepted who's from other countries? Esp if you're from Australia or New Zealand?
ExponentialDecay Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 That's not a thing and the person who posted that is butthurt that they got rejected. IHEID does not discriminate based on nationality. It's full of Europeans because, guess what, it's in Europe, and Americans are everywhere.
Autumn Springs Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) It's definitely not true that IHEID does not accept non-Americans or Europeans, because if you follow the past threads (see IHEID 2016 thread) there are applicants from Asia who were accepted. That being said, as with most educational institutions, i believe a certain amount of places have been more or less set aside for Swiss and/or European students, and as such, the competition for people from other parts of the world is naturally higher.
