Nat15 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Hey guys, So I'm taking the GRE next week. I recently have been doing Manhattan Prep's practice exams but today I took the Powerprep II test one and absolutely bombed it compared to the MPREP tests...I was very disappointed to see such low scores since everyone usually says that PPII is the most accurate in telling your scores. I did notice while doing the PP test that I was distracted (my dad came in to talk to me), so my confidence could have taken a toll but I didn't think it would be that bad. Just to give you a rough idea- here are my scores: Manhattan Prep #1: 155V/155Q Manhattan Prep #2: 152V/156Q Manhattan Prep #3: 153V/155Q Manhattan Prep #4: 156V/156Q (Best score) Powerpoint II #1: 148V/152Q Are there any recommendations you guys have to turn this back around? Or anyone with similar stories?? Thanks.
makingtheleap.back Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 It could definitely be the distractions, but, alternative theory/question: did you do the essays on pp but not manhattan?
coffeecupanalogy Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I think that Manhattan is more difficult than powerprep, mostly the vocabulary since the math sections are pretty accurate. I have been taking the Magoosh mock tests and people say that their results on the actual gre were almost the same if not higher than the estimated scores.
