The Mende-Siedlecki Lab (PI: Dr. Peter Mende-Siedlecki) at the University of Delaware is accepting applications from prospective graduate students for Fall 2017 (application deadline: December 15th, 2016). Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, computer science, or a related field, and have at least one year of research experience in a neuroscience or psychology lab.

Research in Dr. Mende-Siedlecki’s lab focuses on the dynamic neural and psychological mechanisms supporting social perception and social cognition. Our lab takes a multi-level approach to the neural underpinnings and behavioral consequences of our ability to form and update impressions of other people, as well as how top-down influences (like group membership) shape the way we perceive and evaluate others. Our lab employs a variety of methodological approaches in studying these topics, including behavioral, neuroimaging (fMRI), psychophysical, and computational modeling techniques. The Mende-Siedlecki Lab has access to the brand-new, state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities at the University of Delaware Center for Biomedical and Brain Imaging, including a 3T Siemens Prisma scanner – the first research-dedicated fMRI scanner in the state of Delaware.

More information about our lab’s research can be found at our website (www.mendesiedleckilab.com), or by emailing the lab at mendesiedlecki.lab@gmail.com. Applicants are also invited to contact Dr. Mende-Siedlecki (peter.mendesiedlecki@psych.udel.edu) in advance and to mention their interest in the Mende-Siedlecki Lab in their application materials.

How to apply: Graduate applications must be submitted by December 15th, 2016 through the University of Delaware’s graduate application portal: http://grad.udel.edu/apply/.
