songbird Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 One of the professors I worked closely with during my MA research (he wan't my thesis director but was on my committee, and I took a couple of classes with him) is now a high-ranking administrator at a different university. Would it be appropriate to ask him for a LoR?
Neist Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 I'm probably not the definitive authority to answer this question, but it's my general understanding that it's nearly always appropriate to ask your past committee members for a LoR. Of course my logic might be flawed.
TakeruK Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Yes, this should be fine. Just because they become an administrator doesn't mean they lose their "past life"
songbird Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 So good to hear! I would, actually, feel odd NOT asking him, but when it comes to sitting down and writing him (he's five states over now), I keep thinking, "Surely he's busy. Surely he has better things to do now." Okay. I think I'll go for it. Thanks, guys!
