I have been accepted to Johns Hopkins this afternoon (Applied Maths with a specialization in OR). But only 80% tuition waiver and waitlisted for a TA position... Anyway I already liked NU better but it always feels great to hear this kind of news. The email was a bit weird by the way: it was an empty email (utterly blank) with 3 files attached, lol.

lol. I am not on the AdCom. I'm just saying that the rejections listed on the results search all came out on the first Friday of March of last year and that all acceptances came out on the following Monday. So I guess if you see MS&E rejects on the results section tomorrow and you don't get an email, then there's a good chance you may have been accepted and will be notified Monday. Who knows how they're going to do it this year, but tomorrow might be the big day.

Well, I guess the doom day is not today then. Because there is no result post for Stanford and I didn't get any notification.

Saw a posting for a rejection from Cornell. Has everyone received a rejection? I'm still waiting on mine.

Same here, but as long as we are not the one getting the rejections, we are still in the game, lol. Usually decisions from Cornell come in mid-March (except for stellar applicants who are courted in February), and we should not be expecting to hear from them for another week I would say.

On a similar note, it was said early this week that the remaining decisions from UMich would be sent this week and I have yet to hear from them, has anybody heard anything?

It's funny because I always thought that I would know virtually all of my applications decisions by the end of February and I started March with still 7 pending applications out of 11. I guess they really are testing our patience...

I just got an Admit from SUNY buffalo (Masters) no Aid. They have asked me to send back their Statement of Intent Accepting their Admit B4 March 15th. Thats too early dont you think especially i havent heard from other universities. you think i can get them to wait? Is it possible to have a discussion with them regarding Financial aid?

Rejected by Cornell. Guess all my top choices have rejected me: Cornell, Princeton, Yale.

Just waiting for GaTech results.

It does seem to be very rushed and not quite right to impose this upon you. The rule of thumb is the April 15th deadline though that is primarily for PhDs. However, giving you barely 10 days to make up your mind is a bit odd. I would try to have the deadline postponed, after all they cannot take the offer back from you so there isn't much to lose with trying.

Sorry to hear that. Hang in there, I am sure positive news will come, your profile looks quite strong.

(BTW, are you the one who posted the rejection?)

Yeah, the bad thing about the April 15th thing is that it is pretty much for PhDs and it ONLY is for people who got aid. It doesn't reply for situations with no aid.... bummer.

Since i don't have anything else in my hand i am tempted to Accept SUNY buffalo. But if any can tell me what happens if i Accept More than one admit in case i get another admit after i accept this one.

Is there a way of backing ou of this one? what exactly happens. ?

You would have to read the contract that you sign. I would look up the school's policies... but since it is a master's degree w/o funding they can't apply those rules to you.

Even students under the April 15th policy can accept and change their mind as long as it is before April 15, so I'm guessing you can do the same.

dude, I so...hope you are right...I applied for the PhD program at Cornell and I haven't heard anything from them too. Same thing with Columbia; I'm just hoping and praying that I'm in.

I also thought/hoped that by now, I would have at least one admission offer by now...but I still haven't received any yet :( I sent emails to three schools, and they all haven't responded regarding when I should expect a reply...at this point, my patience is almost out. I will soon resort to my childish alter-ego, and start calling (definitely incognito) all the programs and asking them when applicants should expect to hear from them, telling them that it is unfair to test our patience this much, afterall the least these schools can do for us considering that WE PAY THEM to evaluate our applications, is to provide us with quality customer service i.e update us bi-weekly/monthly, with info on how the admin comm is progressing.

Yes, I was asking a similar question (check the last 1 or 2 pages). I would say accept it a day before the deadline (3/15) if you have not yet heard from any of the other programs you applied to. You could always let SUNY know if you get a better offer and decide SUNY is no longer the best option.

There was a second rejection posted today and dated as of today (are the adcoms really working on a Saturday?). Anyway, this demonstrates activity in the department and we might hear sooner than I expected...

I posted the rejection later in the day...someone else posted the first reject.

Although my profile is ok, I guess the competition is too much for the few positions.

All d best to all u guys who are still waiting for the results, and congratulations to those who are all set to join.

I think I heard about that as for UMich, financial aid comes along automatically with Ph.D admission, right?

anything related to U$C is bad.... i'd advise against going to U$C... the reputation is that you can "buy" a degree there..

Congrats on the admission!

I don't know much about USC's program. I think the school has an overall quite good reputation so it might be worth looking into it. And it's in sunny California, which is a definite plus :)

Look at the results for Stanford. For the past few years, all rejects have been sent on Friday and all acceptances the following Monday during some week in March. Since they didn't send out the results this past week, then I am assuming results will most likely come out either this coming Friday/Monday or the next. So be patient. Just hope you don't an email on a Friday!

I guess it is because they have a larger application pool this year. I heard many other programs have got ridiculously large number of people applying.
