So, to spend my time waiting I've been focusing a lot on my (and my boyfriend's) container garden. We've got about 20 plants, herbs and veggies. Does anyone else garden, what are you growing?

I've just planted some new greens, peas, and eggplants (my last one died after a root fungus). I've been thinking about growing some carrots, but I'm not sure how well that would go over in a container. My only attempt at root veggies so far being onions, which yielded little more than green onions, but were delicious none the less.

I'm a die-hard gardener. In California, I gardened year-round. Here in Colorado, unfortunately, you can't plant until April at the earliest. So I haven't planted anything yet.

I did carrots in a container one year. I think I should have always done them that way. Carrots like loose soil, so they grow a lot more nicely in potting soil than in real ground. But you either need to have a very deep pot or else buy the mini-carrot seeds.

You gotta get an Earthbox, I grew jalapeno peppers, rosemary, thyme in mine. You just add water down the spout every other day and watch the things grow. I have mine on the balcony of my apartment.
