Sageofpain Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Hey all, I need input on me picking my graduate school for immunology. So i have four interviews University of Alabama Birmingham, Case western reserve, University of Pittsburgh, University of Arizona. I have already been accepted to Birmingham and case. If i don't get accepted to Pitt, should I go to UAB where I like the school and the research but my reservation is that Birmingham is dull and lacks interesting things to do. Or should I go to case where the PI's are cool well establish and there are some with interesting research to me, I like Cleveland a lot more but i feel less of a connection with the research and PI at case. any input is appreciated.
shikkui Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 As someone who went to a school in a boring town for their undergrad, I would recommend you go with the PI whose project interests you the most. You can live with living in a boring town, but you might regret doing research on something you are not as connected to. Sageofpain 1
ak547 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I agree with @shikkui Since you're going to be spending a majority of the time with your research and PI, you would rather choose the research you feel more strongly about. A boring town can always be managed, but being less connected to your research can lead to larger issues down the road. Sageofpain 1
