VictoriaLucas Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 So I've had a journal submission accepted and I've finished addressing the reviewer's notes, but I'm confused about style/formatting. The journal uses Chicago and I've gotten that in order, but the formatting sample the editors sent me is a published article from their last issue. Complete with columns, headings, etc. I always thought that was handled by the copy editor once all of the finished articles were in? I dropped a subtle question in my last email to the editors about columns but they didn't respond to it. I feel like I should probably know what to do here but I'm totally lost. Any advice???
fuzzylogician Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 It depends on the journal but in my field that's usually something the journal takes care of. The instructions to authors will usually have a section on how the final accepted version of the manuscript should look like, and if it doesn't, I would just ask. VictoriaLucas 1
CrunchyMamademic Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I second the above. If you addressed all of the specific notes and they didn't say anything about specific formatting, I would just leave it and see if the editors add the columns and headers. You can also reiterate your question more directly when you send this new copy.
