willyn Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Hello all, I've just been accepted to one of the top schools on my list; however, the funding is really making me have some second thoughts. I call it funding, but really I've been offered 6k through TA'ing and no extra scholarship package. I should mention that I'm in Canada and the program in question is an MA in Econ. Is this a reasonable offer, or am I correct to have some doubt?
merci Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I find that its only reasonable to compare funding for similar programs Im doing a masters in planning and was offered $6500. A similar program offered me $10k. However my friend doing her masters in global affairs was offered double that by two programs... so best bet is to compare funding offers from other econ MA programs in Canada.. perhaps browse the results section of Grad Cafe.

Thank you. Unfortunately most of what I found was around 12k. Looks like I'll have a tough decision to make.. Hopefully other offers come in soon. Edited February 18, 2017 by willyn
