What happens after April 15th

I am just curious what happens to the declined offers after April 15th?  Is it still possible to get in after the Decision Day?

You'd actually be getting in ON decision day. People will have to accept one offer + decline the others on 4/15, and the declined offers will then travel down the waitlist until someone accepts. 

 

My friend's friend had an offer to one program and was waitlisted at her top choice, and she held out all the way to 4/15 and got into her top choice from the waitlist that day.

Question: does the fact that April 15th is on a weekend change anything? Or could someone get a call on a Saturday about a grad offer?

I've heard that if it falls on a weekend, the actual decision is then Monday following the weekend. That being said, some schools may still call on a weekend. Best to be by your phones!
