My first application for grad school for Fall 2017 is tomorrow on March 1st. I have completed everything on my application checklist online, except the school hasn't received the last official transcript. I have ordered a 7 of them back on the 8th of this month from a college in Seattle (I am currently living in NYC and live just blocks away from the University I want to attend, so I wonder if its the distance that is delaying my official transcript?) I have called the school in Seattle and they confirmed they mailed it on the 9th and sent me an online receipt showing I paid for it weeks ago, and said they will mail me another batch of them this past Monday just in case I never get the first one, etc. I have received other transcripts from my two other undergrad schools but the Seattle one (I ordered all of them within the first week of February, earlier this month). I am worried I will be disqualified from the admission process, but when I called the grad admissions to the school I'm applying to, they said my program still has rolling admissions after the "official deadline" until the program is full (she gave me no deadline on that one but said if my transcript is on its way still, I still have time but "at risk").

What should I do? I'm worried since I completed every other criteria and have paid for the final transcript which has been verified and supposedly "sent". They did send my scanned emailed copies of my unofficial transcript to show proof I had it, but the grad admission refuses to accept them, and also refused to accept faxed copies straight from the school itself. I feel hopeless and useless, I did everything right on my part. I feel its the undergrad school in Seattle that messed up and is ruining my chances at this point, but pointing fingers wont help the situation at this point.

Has this happen to anyone else. What happened to you? Did you drop the program or did the admissions dropped you and you had to reapply the next year?

Personally, I would have them mail the transcript again (and if possible over night). It is pretty unusual for a University to want you to mail transcripts. Almost all my experience has been with online transcript delivery services. It is a good sign that they won't throw the application out though. If you are a very good fit, it should be evident despite the application arriving slightly later. At this point I feel you may as well persist because you've paid the application fees, perhaps taken the GRE, and put all this time in. Hope it works out!
