Should I contact POI to ask about the status of my application?

Hey everyone!! I applied to the University of Regina in experimental psych and haven't heard back from them. Thing is my POI said that I should get a response by the end of February/beginning of March. Going through the results section of this site, it seems like some people have already received their decisions. Just wondering, should I contact my POI to ask about the status if my application? Or maybe the grad department? I really want to get in to this school and the wait is just killing me!!

which school did you apply to? If it is southern Cali, you are on the waitlist (i believe).
