Less competitive SLP programs

Question

Posted

I am a third year undergraduate student at Ohio University in Athens Ohio. I will be finishing my third year with a 3.33 cumulative GPA, but with a CSD GPA of around 3.80 or 3.90. My cumulative GPA is on the low end because I was a nursing major for my first year, and ended up switching majors. I am extremely involved in volunteering, I do research with a professor, and many other things. I also will be presenting at ASHA next fall. I am just curious at what my chances look like for getting into speech language pathology masters programs. Any help?!

I actually had the same exact experiences as you; conducted research, presented at ASHA and worked in the medical field. There is hope! I applied to 15 schools and got accepted into five of them....with a below 3.0 GPA!!! and a 3.8 my last 60 credits. Good luck!
