eof Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi all, My gf is applying for Ph.D. programs next year and I was looking at these boards. There is really no good source for applicant profiles for political science. Math and physics have the following: http://www.physicsgr....php?f=3&t=1847 http://www.mathemati...c.php?f=1&t=357 Both were really good resources when I applied myself. I was hoping that you people could fill out something similar... Just copy the template from the math thread and fill in the details. Thanks.
curufinwe Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Undergrad: Bilkent University (Business Admin.), GPA 3.93 (valedictorian) Grad: Sabanci University (MA in Polisci), GPA 3.71 (both pretty good schools in Turkey, but then again, who cares about'em when there are tons of ivy league graduates? ) Full scholarships for both universities. GRE: 690V, 800Q, AW: 5 TOEFL iBT: 117/120 LORs: 1 from a good professor, others will do. SOP: I feel like it was rather dull, nothing striking or dazzling. (damn you 500 words limit) No proper research experience other than my class papers. Writing Sample: a paper for my comparative politics class. Good approach, but since it was a paper for a class, it wasn't as thorough as I wanted it to be. Method: got intense maths and statistics classes and a formal modeling class (received A for all). Applied to, Rejected, Accepted... follow my signature. Edited February 9, 2010 by curufinwe
natofone Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 There is a really large one of these from last year if you search a few pages back.
