I have applied for Area 1 (communications, networks, control) but haven't heard anything from them. Has anybody heard anything from Area 1?

I applied for Area 4 (specifically materials, devices, photonics). I haven't heard from them as well, although two professors from Area 4 did get in touch with me waaaaaaay back in Nov 09 when I first submitted my application to discuss the possibility of me joining their group. I haven't heard from them since. Wonder what's going on...

I haven't received any email from the department to invite me to any open house as well.

I'm in the same boat. I've also applied for Area 1 and not heard a thing. I'm really hoping that the results thus far have just been Computer Science ...

I was admitted from Area IV. Got the admit email yesterday afternoon.

I have also applied to EECS@MIT. To be more specific, I selected Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence and Communications (in that order) on the application form. That would mean that I've applied to Area 1 mostly and also Area 2. However, so far I haven't received any information about the decisions. No contacts from Professors either...

Any of you guys have any information about Area 1?

It's 830pm, Thursday, in Cambridge, MA.. Still no email. Guess I'll have to check again tomorrow.. Any one else who applied to materials, devices, photonics? Any news?? Judging from previous years' postings, they should be done notifying admits by the end of this week...
