Hey there everyone,

I was just wondering if, in Canada or in the USA, a masters program in sociology would accept a student who had very high grades in a psychology honours program? I completed my honours degree in psych here in Canada with a GPA of ~3.90/4.0, but if I wanted to do a masters in sociology, would a school make me re-take a sociology degree?

A lot of Canadian schools specify you should have a soc undergrad (I also did my undergrad in Canada) but in actuality they're very flexible. I'd think you'd have no problem getting in to a program in Canada, as for the US there are fewer terminal MA degrees in soc. Although I'm no longer interested in getting my MA in soc I was previously and have done a lot of research into the schools in both the US and Canada so feel free to PM me if you want any advice.
