Just curious if anyone has heard anything from Pitt. I know the storm shut down the school from Monday to Wednesday last week - my girlfriend didn't have any classes until Friday. From looking at previous dates, it looks like they should be announcing very soon, especially since they had a Dec. 12th deadline.

I was told that PhD candidates would be notified "by the end of February." I'm guessing that people who have been accepted might hear as soon as the next couple of days, but this is just a guess. Perhaps the storm, as you mentioned, is the reason they're a little later this year. Who knows? Anyway, best of luck on your app!

Looks like the acceptances are going out now (I see two were just posted). Congratulations to those who were accepted!

Does anyone happen to know if Pitt is still admitting people? Even though I think this is unlikely, I noticed no one is listed as being waitlisted. The past results show that those waitlisted and those accepted have been contacted around the same time. So perhaps there is still a little hope for those of us who haven't heard yet. *fingers crossed*

I was wondering the same thing. It seems all acceptances were sent out at the same time in past years, then a few days later rejections were mailed out. Not to worry anyone, but when I saw that first acceptance and checked my email and found nothing, I definately put that information in the "not a good sign" category. Good luck to all those (like myself) still waiting!

If anyone has the number and wants to give them a call to see if all the acceptances/wait-lists have been sent out, I'd really appreciate it. I'd do it myself, but I'm in South Korea, and that'd be rather expensive

Thanks, that does help, I suppose. Chances seem pretty slim that those of us who haven't heard anything will. Good luck with getting off the waiting list and into an acceptance

I just got a response to the email I sent. Pittsburgh has not sent out all of their acceptances yet. They plan to send out the final acceptances by the end of this week. Best of luck to those of you still waiting (myself included ).

Nope. I'm not sure what the deal is, but the email I got definitely said "this week." If they don't get back to us soon, I'll send another email just to see what's going on.

I got accepted to the MA today, which I figure means a rejection from the PhD stream, but I've received no notification on that one.

I'm curious as to their wait list. I haven't heard from Pitt yet via mail and I haven't seen anything pertaining to their wait list on the results page.

I'm sorry to those who've been rejected. A friend of mine also applied to Pitt - he's one of the most intelligent people I know - and he was rejected. Leading up to hearing back from schools, I was told that the entire application process is completely random. Now I know that that is true.
