I've recently seen a few examples of statements of purpose that leave out indentation. Is there some sort of stylistic rule I'm unaware of? How has everyone else handled this? Thanks!!

Yeah. I wouldn't worry too much.

If a uni did turn you down due to indentation (or lack thereof), they would likely nitpick all of their applicants away.
