I recently headed back to school to pick up my masters degreeĀ in mathematics after being in Industry for a number of years and I am really enjoying being back.
I am thinking of continuing on to a PhD, however, I am thinking of switching over to a CS PhD. This seems like it would be pretty straightforward especiall since I was a programmer while I was in industry, but I am curious if there are any pitfalls I should keep an eye out for.
Additionally, I wanted to look for a smaller CS program where I could focus on algorithm development and optimization, crypto or data science. Any I would appreciate any advice on how to find smaller programs would be appreciated.
