OwlKirbyPenguin Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Hi y'all, I am applying for 2018 fall admission and I have a quick question... Does anyone know if Sociology departments have rolling admissions system? No school that I have looked up so far has specified that. If most schools use that system it's better to apply as soon as possible right? But even if they don't, is it a better strategy to apply quickly? Or sometime around deadline? Thanks in advance
manofthehoff Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I'm fairly certain that if a program has a single deadline, then there is no advantage to applying earlier. A program should only have rolling admissions if that is stated clearly online (and this is far from the norm in the U.S.). When in doubt, contact the graduate admissions coordinator.
avflinsch Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Rolling admissions happen more often in professional programs than in the standard academic programs, even still they are fairly uncommon.
