snickus Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) I'm taking the GRE on 11/16 and I'm (most likely) applying to OSU whose deadline is 12/4. ETS says that for the computer-based test, scores will be sent to the schools I select 10-15 days after taking the test. Anyone know if that's calendar days or business days? If calendar days, OSU will get it, at the latest, on Fri 12/1. Can anyone speak to how long it took the schools they selected on the day of the test to receive their score? Is there a gap between them receiving the score from ETS and them placing the score in my app, marking it as complete? I scheduled the test before I chose OSU. At that point, the schools I'd already selected had later deadlines, so 11/16 seemed safe. I understand this is a pretty specific question, so probably one I should contact OSU for advice regarding. Still, if anyone here can speak to it, I'd really appreciate it! Edited November 9, 2017 by snickus
a_sort_of_fractious_angel Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I think contacting OSU is your best bet. I can't recall (from my past application attempts) how long my scores took to send or if I was even given that info. Moreover, since some schools offer to let you know if the scores are missing and others suggest a "take-by" date to ensure the scores get there on time, I don't know if a generalization can/should be made about their stance on it. snickus 1
TakeruK Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 It's not clear if it's business or calendar days because the big range means that getting it 13 calendar days later might correspond to 10 business days. I remember getting my scores 2 calendar weeks after the test, so that doesn't quite help. You should contact OSU to see what you should do. I was in a very similar situation where it was Nov 25 and I realised one of my schools had a deadline of Dec 1 for international students (it's Jan 5 for domestic students). My scores would not have been ready until Dec 12. So I contacted the school and they said I can just submit my scores late and it will be fine. snickus 1
snickus Posted November 9, 2017 Author Posted November 9, 2017 Thanks guys, I appreciate your input! I've emailed ETS to clarify if it's business or calendar days. I'm going to contact OSU and ask how they'll handle this.
snickus Posted November 9, 2017 Author Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) Update: OSU said they'd be able to accept my score past the deadline. Uplifting news! Edited November 9, 2017 by snickus
