Big Decision between 2 programs :

I'm considering both these programs and would like to get your opinon on why one would be better than the other. Advice is a wonderful thing, mostly when you're on the giving side...

I'm not sure what your program is, but I would look at these factors:

1. Research Fit

2. Graduate Placements

3. Quality of Life

Obviously, both are top schools, so whatever you choose will get you a good placement after graduate school. I heard Ithaca is a very beautiful place, and I once thought of applying there myself, but I didn't think it was wise for me to do so, knowing that I love the sun too much and wouldn't be able to stand 7 or so months of constant grayness. I would suggest doing a campus visit and meeting the faculty so you get a vibe as to which feels right for you. Good luck!

You haven't answered any of those three areas that peterrr brings up, so it is tough to say. For me, I would figure Princeton has better quality of life, maybe even or slightly better placement, and (for me) better research fit, so that would be easy I think you need to look at the three factors, in the order of importance that peterrr listed them, and compare the two.

I agree with the above

i went to cornell and it is beautiful it has water and a nice campus

the school is huge its liek a small town on the top of a hill and theres not much of anything aorund it i heard its hard to get in and out if you don't have a car because its a small area its not like there is an airport/train station

also heard the winters a harsh

don't know where princeton is

tough tough call!!!! you shoudl so visit.....talk to the profs about the reserach i guess too?
