  1. For me...I am an older student as well...AA in general studies, BA in psychology...my early years of school were NOT good at all, but I pulled it together in the later years. I have seen some of the experience some people have in here and honestly, I could not compete, but I would say get some experience, keep your grades up and you should be fine for their program. Also, as an older student you likely have more life experience. I definitely called upon that when it came time to write my statement of purpose as I don't have any direct social work experience. I definitely had to research the values and I realized a lot of that could apply to life in general so I just went with it and it worked out for me. After I applied I started getting second thoughts because of the cost, but then when it came time to apply for scholarships I applied for everything! I got $50k scholarship which definitely helps plus I have money coming from my gi bill so I am practically going for free. Obviously I couldn't say no to USC after that. I almost didn't apply for any of the scholarships because it was a bit overwhelming for me, but I am so happy that I did because it paid off
  2. I'm pretty much committed to going to USC, especially because of the scholarship money I received. I won't have to come out of pocket at all so that is a win-win for me! Plus I really love their program.
  3. If anyone applied for any scholarships, start keeping an eye out on your email! I got the most amazing news today. I wasn't expecting to hear back this soon
  4. Earlier this week via email. I haven't gotten the documents in the mail yet, but I did get the digital ones.
  5. Congrats to everyone who got in! I've been so busy these last few weeks, but I just wanted to share that I got my acceptance as well!!! Hopefully I will see some of you there.
  6. I had the SAME exact issue!!! At least I know I am not the only one. I had to call them so many times and it took 3 weeks for them to resolve the issue. Everyone I spoke to told me something different.
  7. Nope! Me and a friend both submitted early. They actually had an issue with their system adding schools you have never been on the application so I had to jump through hoops to get that fixed before my application was considered complete. Took almost 3 weeks after the early deadline to get it fixed. I don't think my friend had any issues, but neither of us have heard anything yet. I am too nervous to call and ask LOL has anyone else heard back?
  8. I actually personally mailed my transcripts to the school. That way I had a peace of mind that they got there. USC should have gotten them by now. If it was me, I would order another one and take it to the school myself. That's what I did for my cal state transcript. Since your in La Crescenta it's not too far, but I would suggest taking the metro because they have a stop literally right in front of the school. That way you don't have to deal with traffic.
  9. Yes, you can update your fafsa if you have changes. Maybe you can use the last paycheck you have. That should have all the same information number wise as a W2.
  10. Well good luck! And I sincerely hope the both of us hear something SOON
  11. I have filed mine out already. If you can, I would try to do it ASAP because you have better scholarship opportunities. You don't want to wait if you don't have to.
  12. I'm interested in going into the adults and healthy aging route. What about you?
  13. good to know, thanks! I won't keep obsessively checking everyday then! Hopefully we all hear something soon! Its been quiet around here this year.
  14. what is the hashtag you speak of??? So I guess it might be another month. Hopefully it will be sooner!!! I don't know about the cost just yet, but I am hoping to get some scholarships to offset the cost if I get in. I also did NOT know about them using the highest GPA. That makes me feel a lot better, because my major GPA is 3.8
