  1. Were you emailed or did you get a physical letter?
  2. Any idea when we're supposed to get confirmation that we've passed our medical clearances?
  3. I hear you! Somehow, my letter took 7 days to get from New York to Boston, which is a little bit absurd. Hang in there!
  4. Just heard: I was awarded an ETA to Thailand!! We should get in touch! For the spreadsheet: Name: MTD Country: Thailand Status: Accepted Address: Current Notification Date: 4/20/2011 Postmark Date: 4/13/2011 Method: Large manilla Academic Status: Undergrad (!!!!!!!)
  5. [The following is a rather useless spout of anxiety...] I applied to an ETA in Thailand and was excited to find out that letters had been mailed earlier last week. The problem is that I haven't had mail access since Friday--my college mailbox is closed on Saturdays, and Patriot's day (don't even ask, Massachusetts is strange) meant that I couldn't check the mail yesterday either. I know how useless this concern is (why would me knowing 24 hours earlier or later possibly matter??), but the suspense is driving me NUTS!
  6. The email from Mr. Akeley says "Notification letters are sent to the Current Addresses, so if yours is up to date then there shouldn't be any delays." Best of luck
  7. I applied for an ETA in Thailand, and am still waiting to hear back. Trying to be patient... kind of failing a little, though According to the 2010-2011 magic spreadsheet (https://spreadsheets...Ow6bHdhYA#gid=0), it seems like last years' Vietnam applicants heard around the end of March, which is... nowish. So hopefully you will hear soon about your award status? If he doesn't respond to your second email, I'd give him a call... the medical stuff seems like the sort of thing you want to stay on top of!
  8. You're talking about Jonathan Akeley, right? Not sure if this is helpful or not, but I emailed him on Friday about something inconsequential (I wanted to make sure that any notifications would come to my current address rather than my permanent address), and he got back to me first thing Monday morning. So he is responding to email; maybe he hasn't gotten to yours yet? It is possible that he responded to my email so quickly because it was a really easy question... if you're asking him about deadlines, he might be dependent on someone else for answers?
  9. Hi all! I have a quick question for award recipients (congrats, by the way!): did your campus advisers know about your acceptance before or after you did? Do they receive some sort of notification from IIE? From the host country? Thanks!
