SoloChemist
Hi all, I am working on my MS in chemistry. The GPA 3.1 and will graduat on summer or Fall 2013. I got on the graduate course of Physical Chem C+, and a B- in another course. My Bachelor in chemistry with poor GPA, 2.4 Now, I have a chance to retake that Physical Chemistry course and I might be able to get B, not because the course is tough but the professor is bias. Anyway, I am planing to apply for PhD in chemistry, I am sponsored and I don't need a teaching assistantship. My question to you guys, do you think the C+ would be issue in my application? would both the c+ and B- prevent me from continue my education? I am sure that there is alaways a chance, but I am asking about the common situation. Thank you for your time, and I am glade that a joined such great community
Usmivka
I think it is a very long shot. A B- is basically failing in many grad programs... Are you trying to continue in the same program? That might up your odds a little. Good luck.
Quantum Buckyball
If you're sponsored then you'll be fine.I had a C when I applied and my overall GPA was 3.5 though. You shouldn't worry too much.
