daisydukes
For those who attend Full time programs, do people work during their time in an MSW program? (Those who don't receive a TITLE 4E or Mental Health stipend ) If you don't work, do you use loans to help pay for your housing and tuition? Do you know of any popular scholarships that I could apply to?
bquinn
I'm not an MSW student yet, but I work with many clinicians who have been through grad school. Every single one of them has told me that working full-time during grad school is a near impossible feat, and that they saw it lead to burn out and academic failure. They all worked part time during grad school, which is what I plan on doing. I feel like by working full time, you can't really devote enough energy toward your classes, which is why we're there, right? I'd be interested to know others' experiences who may have worked full time, and how you managed that.

I didn't make enough to live on my wages alone so I had to take out a smaller loan in addition.

Deez
I plan to work full time during grad school. I work evenings and weekends so my days off would be when I have my internship. I'm sure I will have to utilized time management skills to the max come August.
TLC
http://socialworklicensemap.com Look at your specific states and see wbat they offer. I would also contact your program and inquire about scholarship and fellowship opportunities. My program sends out weekly emails about both.
