  1. i lived in columbia housing for 2 years while doing my masters. I was placed in a very large unfurnished apartment with one other student who was in the same program as me. Our living room was HUGE (larger than anything i've seen in nyc), each had our own bedroom which fit a full size bed, dresser, desk and chair, and also had a closet. Lived 1 block away from school and paid around $600/month, which is probably impossible outside of Columbia housing. I was initially placed in a furnished apartment with 4 other roommates, however Columbia was nice enough to let me switch (probably because I checked off on the application wanting to live with people of the same gender and was placed in a mix). I think I preferred bringing my own furniture to the standard that I would have received (I'm assuming a twin extra long bed).
  2. nyu! congrats to everyone for making it through this part of the process and good luck with your studies!
  3. Thanks for the update and making the contact. I will reach out, but yesterday I heard that I got off the NYU waitlist--my first choice with amazing funding. I can't pass up the opportunity! Good luck to you as well!
  4. I have yet to hear either and also have to make a decision soon on my most solid offer. I did hear from hunter and have the interview tomorrow. Hopefully, they make final decisions soon after. Not sure about calling, I thought about it...
  5. NYU, Silberman (Hunter) and Rutgers (I saw that others heard)
  6. is anyone else still waiting to hear back from schools? i have several acceptances, but am waiting from places that i condsider top choices.
  7. NYU is 6 (out of ?) from what I remember at the open house.
  8. well, let's just hope my application stands out to a few more places...it already wasn't enough for the place where i got my mssw (thanks, columbia). i've only been in the field for 4 years, but have been working 1 full time job, 1 per diem job and running 1 per diem group. i have 2 publications (was lucky to stay connected to a professor)...GRE scores, eh I guess could be better
  9. no word for me from rutgers...when i did a search in the results page one person had heard mid feb.
  10. i applied to several, so far 2 interviews, accepted to 1, and rejected by 1...waiting for a few more (all NYC area schools)
