I apologize if this is somewhat of a "stupid" question... but what exactly is it like to work as an R.A? Can most of the "work" be done at home, or are you expected to be on campus and "clock in"?

I know of (not personally) one person doing their M.A at U of T this year with a research assistant position. So I guess it's not impossible...? I'll have to inquire more about this though.

Just called the M.A secretary about decisions on entrance scholarships/OGS etc., apparently those are being released sometime next week. So late!

I called last Friday and they told me that they were aiming/hoping to release the first round of decisions by the end of this week.

marlise_b are you on the admissions committee, by any chance?

For those that applied to the Queen's M.A program, they just sent out their acceptance letters via email!!!

I really doubt that they will be place all that much emphasis on a writing sample. Unless it's absolutely terrible and shows clearly to reader that the applicant is incapable of writing... I think you will be fine. Just wondering -- has anyone here applied for OGS?
