  1. hey did any of you guys get accepted for Comp Lit PhD at CU? I am really interested in the course they offer (they have a great East Asian Lit department) but haven't actually spoke to anyone doing it yet... any help?? Cheers, Craig
  2. Hi...so you applied to the EAL program at COlumbia... I am interested to move onto a PhD program in East Asian Lit...I have soooooo many questions about the whole process and have been looking for people interested in the same field to gain some further knowledge about the whole venture. I did my undergrad and MA in the States (Soka University of America, small liberal arts school, for my undergra; the Eastern Classics porgram at St. John's College, Santa Fe, for my terminal MA). I am now back home in the UK planning my next move. I got a lot of language study to perfect- Japanese and CHinese obviously! If you wouldn't mind sharing your experience of applying for MA/PhD programs in the US I'd love to hear them... @ craigciosk@gmai.com Many thanks and all the best for 2010! Craig
  3. Hi... I am interested in applying to Comparative lit/East Asian Lit courses in the US.. I did my BA in Humanities (Major in Chinese/Japanese lit) from a small liberal arts college in California. I did a terminal MA in Eastern Classics at St John's College, Santa Fe... I am interested in the PhD courses at CU, Berkeley and ,er, well the best Universities I can get accepted to.. I am concerned about how much I need to know and just how good my language skills need to be... Any pointers, experiences you can share about preparing your PhD proposal? Thanks, Craig
