  1. @bummer - I guess they aren't running all that late with the news this year - not the rejections anyway! I just got an email from DAAD about 40 minutes ago telling me my application was a no-go super bummed. But maybe at this point no news means good news in your case - best of luck!
  2. skorkie - I also applied for a DAAD scholarship; there's a lot of different types so I'm not sure if we applied to the same - I applied for a study scholarship to fund my master's studies in Germany. I was told that DAAD notification would be made by late March or "sooner if possible" - I'm not sure if they send out notifications for all the various types of DAAD scholarships at the same time, but if you also applied for a study scholarship, I guess this is the month when we'll find out - eek! good luck
  3. @bummer: All I know is what I heard in the first email from DAAD that told me they had received my application, which I'm guessing you got as well: that word would be sent by late March "or sooner, if possible" So I guess that means a few more weeks of continual email checking/racing to the meet the mailman every day - urgh! I'm actually not even sure how they notify (email or post?) You don't know by any chance?
  4. hi all, I applied to a couple comp lit programs but also to Columbia German (with the comp lit minor option) - no word yet from ANYone and I'm definitely going a little crazy - definitely doesn't help that I'm on vacation right now and have wayyyy too much free time to browse through the Grad Cafe forums and furiously refreh my inbox every second of the day Anyone else go for Columbia - any word? I'm also applying for a DAAD scholarship plus bunch of schools in Germany which are basically my backup plan if none of my north american applications work out - but I might not hear back from German schools for MONTHS because their system is so different. sooo frustrating, I'm so ready to know NOW! Did any other German studies people apply to German schools or DAAD?
  5. Hey all, does anybody know if Columbia/NYU/CUNY do interviews for comp lit applicants, or when they send out notifications? I've been telling myself that if I don't hear about an interview by the end of February I might as well write them off and prepare for a big move to Germany, but I'm not quite sure where I got that idea from (probably while browsing GradSchool forums).. I am SOOOOOOOOOO TIRED of waiting, I feel like I've been stressing about grad school details since I took the GRE last spring - argh! Hope everyone else is hanging in there
  6. Hey all, I just wanted to see if I could find any fellow comparative literature applicants out there! I've applied to University of Toronto's MA program, and PhD programs at Columbia (via the German department), NYU and CUNY. I've also applied to a bunch of schools in Germany, which explains by bizarrely short list of schools. If there are any other comp lit folks out there, I'd love to hear about where you applied, what your interests are in complit, etc. - and for some moral support as we await decisions
