Yo me gradué de la maestría de Español en City College, que creo que está muy a la par con la de Hunter. El gran problema es que hay muchos estudiantes de niveles muy diferentes, hay gente que quiere hacer la maestría para que les suban el sueldo y tienen poco interés en aprender, así como SI hay muy buenos estudiantes con intereses de seguir estudiando, investigar, etc. Así que depende de uno qué tanto provecho le saca al proceso. Los programas son en su mayoría literarios, con muy muy poca teoría, lo que puede ser una desventaja a la hora de hacer el doctorado. Como siempre, cualquier cosa a la orden.

I'll be attending to the HLBLL (that's short for Hispanic LusoBrazilian Languages and Literatures) program, but I guess sharing some drinks and thoughts with you all wouldn't hurt. Hi. I'll be attending at GC CUNY for Spanish & Portuguese and I have been living on NYC for close to 7 years now. New York is definitely and expensive city, and space is indeed a huge commodity, but once you realize that's the way thinks are and adapt to it, all that anxiety is gone. I live a very happy life with a "small budget" (always such a relative term) in a "cheap" but awesome neighborhood, Sunnyside, Queens. My commute to GC is going to be about 30 mins, but I currently work at CCNY (a couple stations north Columbia) and is about 50 mins. People also has different conception of what a reasonable commute time is. For some people 45 mins sounds crazy but for NY standars is average (think of it as one hour thirty of reading time!). I know how important is having a place that you like, but most leases are for one year or you almost always can end the contract beforeif you're unhappy. I have lived in neighborhoods that I didn't like, but that's far from being the worst experience of my life. M

Una pregunta, cuáles consideran ustedes que sean los textos de crítica de literatura latinoamericana más importantes. Pienso en textos como Mito y Archivo, de Gonzáles Echevarria, y La ciudad letrada de Rama.

Hola a todas y todos, Ya recibí respuestas negativas de Yale y Brown. Estoy a la espera de Columbia y NYU. Mi pregunta, para quienes dicen tener informantes es, ¿si estas universidades ya tienen una lista porqué no notifican aún a los no quedaron?
