  1. To anyone who has accepted their offer to the M.Sc. Global Health program at McMaster .. please feel free to join this Facebook group that someone created! https://www.facebook.com/groups/619334988084455/
  2. Wondering if anyone who was on the wait list at U of T (MPH Health Promotion) has successfully gotten off the wait list and been offered admission?
  3. Hey guys! I got accepted to McMaster's M.Sc Global Health program by email on May 8th, and we had to respond by May 22nd. I accepted the offer so I'm guessing they'll be sending out the 2nd round of acceptances soon, since the 1st round has now responded to their offers. Hope that helps! And hope to see you in the Fall!
  4. To everyone who was accepted to McMaster's M.Sc Global Health program .. Does someone want to start a Facebook group for our class??
  5. Hey there! I was accepted to McMaster's M.Sc Global Health program too I'm so happy! My first choice was U of T for Health Promotion but I'm on the wait list .. and don't really know if I'll get off of it, so I'm going to accept McMaster
  6. I applied to McMaster for the MSc Global Health as well ! And we are supposed to hear back from them in May I believe
  7. I'm almost positive that U of T has sent out their 1st round of acceptances already for Health Promotion.. I believe the 2nd round of acceptances will go out in mid-April (so anytime now) ... and I believe most people who have been wait listed have been notified as well. And acceptances from U of T come first by email, and then followed up with an official letter snail-mail-style. I've been put on the wait list, so I don't know all of this from experience or anything, just cause I asked a lot of questions to the Grad Coordinator once I applied !
  8. Those ARE really great stats ! Really sorry to hear that .. I don't get it either Where else did you apply?
  9. hi there! I was also wait listed at U of T (Health Promotion). I found out last week as well. I was wondering if they told you where you stand on the wait list? They told me that there are "at least 15 people ranked ahead of me on the wait list" ... but I have a feeling they told this to everyone! So just curious.. Thanks!
  10. I asked U of T about this a while ago.. Charlotte Lombardo told me that we won't know about OGS until about June. Sucks ! (This is for Health Promotion at least .. not sure if the other streams are different)
  11. Yes it does still say "under review" ... and I have a feeling it will for a while Can anyone who was accepted at U of T (Health Promotion) tell us when you have to accept your offer by? My letter (telling me I was wait listed), said that they will know who has rejected / accepted their offers by the end of May .. which seems so far away !!
  12. Hi Loren26, I would potentially suggest emailing Charlotte Lombardo (Program Director for MPH Health Promotion). I emailed her last week and she replied the next day telling me I was wait listed, then I received an official email from Sandra Lang yesterday, confirming that I was wait listed and that there were "at least 15 people ranked ahead of me". I'm sure she'd reply and let you know of your status. Hope that helps!
  13. She's in the program at SFU right now and really likes it . Says it's a lot of work but I guess that is to be expected! She's heading out soon to New Delhi to do her practicum Were you accepted to both U of T and SFU, and trying to decide?
  14. I just received this email from U of T (Health Promotion) .. Has anyone else received a similar email? I remember seeing people on last year's Forum stating that they had received a similar email.. If any of you are following this, please let us know how it ended up for you! Thank you! Good Afternoon; I want to apologize for the delay in getting the results of our assessments communicated to you before this. After reviewing more than 300 applications, the Admissions Committee in the Division of Social and Behavioural Sciences has placed you on a “long wait-list” of applicants for the Master of Public Health Program (Specialization in Health Promotion) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. There are at least 15 people who are ranked ahead of you on this wait-list of applicants to the MPH health promotion program. By May 31, we will have heard from those to whom we have made firm offers of a place in our Program. At the present time, we do not know whether we will need to extend offers to those on our wait-list. This year, there appears to be an unusually strong demand for our MPH Program; it is possible that few applicants will decline our offer of a place. We will let you know as soon as we are in a position to be more definitive. I need to emphasize that future offers will only be made to those who have satisfied all pre-requisites, including: Successful completion of an undergraduate program, AND; Successful completion of a statistics course with a mid-B grade. Please let me know if you DO NOT anticipate taking advantage of a future offer of a place at s.lang@utoronto.ca Best Regards On Behalf of Division of Social and Behavioural Health Sciences – MPH Health Promotion Admissions Committee Sandra Lang
  15. Has anyone received an official email from U of T (Health Promotion) indicating that they are waitlisted? I know that I'm waitlisted only because I personally emailed the Program Director and she responded and told me.. But she also said that I would be receiving an email 'early this week' with further details.. And it's now Wednesday and no email yet...
