Made the decision to enroll at Montclair this fall! I have declined my acceptance to NYU and will be declining Seton Hall and New York Medical College - I hope this helps some people out!

thirdchild012 thank you for the information!!! i'm so glad you had a great visit! i haven't been able to get in touch with someone to set up a visit - they never answered my email from a few days ago but i can't imagine how crazy busy they are. i can't wait to visit and am almost 100% sure that i'm going to be going there now! if you don't mind me asking, did they give you any information about how the clinical aspect of the program is run?! thank you SOOO much!!!

I will be declining my acceptance to NYU today, I hope that it helps someone out!!!

yes don't give up hope!!! mine finally changed to decision made this morning, i'm not sure what to think cause it seems like people got acceptances earlier in the week with emails (i didn't get an email) and people posted that they got rejections in the mail yesterday.. no idea what to think! i live only about 20 min away so hopefully something will come in the mail by like monday! any news for you today!? wishing you the best, and yes we could be classmates, not giving up hope yet! GOOD LUCK! :]

so glad that you guys had a great experience yesterday!!! i also wanted to say since i went to undergrad there that i had a chance to observe two therapy sessions conducted by NYU grad students at the Terrence Cardinal Cooke Center in the Huntington's Disease Unit. The student clinicians seemed to really enjoy their time there and were learning a lot about functional communication and making therapy unique to each individual client. This is a VERY experience if you are interested in the medical/neurological aspects of speech! The only thing is that it is a bit farther uptown from NYU, so you will have to take the 4/5/6 and walk there (it's near east harlem/central park).

i hope that you get some great news as this week comes to an end!!! i am still waiting on montclair as well.. i haven't heard a word from them since i submitted my application in the first week of december -- if it's a rejection i would rather just know, i don't get what's taking so long!
-
has anyone heard anything from New York medical college yet? I interviewed towards the end of february and the professor said we should get a decision by the middle to end of march!
-
thats fantastic! congrats!!!!
-
hopefully you will get some good news from one of the CUNYs still!!! i went to undergrad in NYC and have heard people say that it can sometimes be hard to get the TSSLD (i think its called now) in New York when going to grad school outside of NY, but i really don't know any details -- i would say definitely give them a call if you think you will want to work in a NY school when you get back

same here on hunter, kinda just happy to hear something after all this time! i didn't realize either that montclair's program was so long -- it's a little hard to tell exactly what the structure of the program is like from their website. i also didn't find much or ever hear much about their clinical affiliations. wishing everyone the best in their decisions, it's almost unreal how many factors there are to consider!
-
congratulations!!!
-
congrats!!!
-
me too, hang in there!!! still could be good news!
-
i got my acceptance to seton hall yesterday morning via phone -- i am not sure how they are doing this process but for anyone who is waiting to hear from them don't give up hope!!! good luck to everyone and hopefully we will hear back from montclair soon!!!! mine still says under review
-
Also I am guessing we won't have the possibility to hear from Seton Hall again until monday at the earliest because they are probably closed today and tomorrow for the catholic holidays
-
i am so anxious to hear back from them too -- i applied in early December and they emailed me asking for 2 syllabi over a month ago. Trying not to fear the worst! I feel the same though, i would rather get it over with! Best of luck to you guys!!

No problem! They did not, I do know right now though that the graduate tuition is approx. $1300/credit at NYU Steinhardt
-
Yes, I think what they sent on the financial aid summary is like the maximum amount of loans that you could possibly get
-
i think it's like for example if the semester costs you 30,000 and you request 35,000 in loans, the 30k will automatically go towards your tuition and then that last 5k comes to you as a regular check you can use the money however you would need, but you will be responsible for paying back the 35,000 (plus the interest) later on
