I am getting more and more anxious about UCLA's decision! It's so nerve-wracking because I want to call them and ask for my decision, but I don't want to get rejected over the phone. :/ I just want to get the decision e-mail already and stop worrying!

Hi everyone! I am applying for chemistry grad schools for this upcoming season. I was wondering, would it be better to apply for MS programs that way I am a stronger candidate for PhD programs afterwards? Or should I just try and go straight into PhD programs? My inclination is to go straight into PhD, because I've heard that MS programs are less likely to be fully funded because it's a shorter period of time. Is that true? Thank you!

I contacted Scripps, and apparently my application is on hold pending the announcement of this year's NSF fellowship. I really really really hope I get good news soon... but I won't get my hopes up, since I don't want to be disappointed if & when they say no.

I haven't heard from Columbia either... and I"m getting extremely antsy too. Has anyone heard from Scripps institution of Oceanography? Or Boston University? I swear, my anxiety level is at an all-time high... and it's only going to get worse the longer they wait to tell me.
