  1. I still haven't heard from Columbia but I'm not holding my breath.
  2. I'm going to UT Austin- BME Ph.D. Should be exciting..
  3. eh, I don't know. I haven't tried calling any programs (just emailed the University of Washington that one time) since I'm sort of phone-phobic but if you're that anxious, I guess you might as well.
  4. Yup, I just checked my email and got a notice to check the website for my admission notice- got rejected, kinda expected it though so whatever.
  5. I applied to UPenn too, still haven't heard anything- I saw that website as well and a little further down it says: "Applicants who are selected for interview will be explicitly notified both by email and surface mail. Invitations will be issued in January and February 2008 for visits in February and March 2008. If you do not hear from us by February 15, 2008, we can not be encouraging." So I guess it doesn't look too good right now.. not that I was expecting anything anyways.
  6. Alright, I emailed the professor who called me and this is what she wrote back: "I just talked to our staff who is arranging the recruiting weekends. You are right. March 28-30 was originally scheduled for the focus of biomaterials/tissue and cellular engineering, but now is changed to the focus of instrumentation and imaging. Sorry about the confusion. We look forward to seeing you here on the weekend April 2-4." And by April 2-4, I hope she means April 4-6. Anyway, I'm interested in smart biomaterials and their applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering.
  7. ahh, weird, because the professor i talked to definitely said it was the late March weekend that was biomaterials/TE-focused- i wanted to make sure i had the right dates because i knew the UWashington interview dates would be around the same time. i'll call the professor tomorrow just to make sure because showing up for the wrong weekend would definitely suck. and i'll post what i find out. but thanks for the heads-up.
  8. I emailed the University of Washington where I had applied to their Ph.D. program- got rejected =( But at least that means I can go to the biomaterials, TE- focused recruiting weekend at the University of Minnesota =) (it's the same weekend that UW is holding their interviews- March 27-30). I know Minnesota is supposed to have another recruiting weekend the weekend right afterwards- not sure what the focus is going to be then, but the professor who called me told me that the first weekend is going to be more about biomaterials and tissue engineering which happens to be her (and my) area of interest.
  9. hey i've been lurking for the past couple of days after some people i know started hearing back from places while i was still left waiting.. until today that is- i come back from a meeting and there's a missed call on my cell from a number i don't recognize. so i google it and it's the graduate contact in the BME dept at UT Austin! ahh! so i quickly call back hoping to catch whoever called, get the machine, and leave an awkward "hey, just calling back" message (i hate hate hate leaving messages) and now i'm left pondering my fate until Monday I s'pose.. so anyone know what this all means? i'm guessing they don't call all the people they reject so it should be a good sign, right? but then i missed the call and left that awful message.. ugh, suspense, suspense, can barely stand it!
