  1. Hey All, You can find last year's spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE&usp=sharing I haven't spent the time to go through this thread to see if anyone has made one for 2014-2015, but some brave soul should consider it! If anyone will be applying to India next year, you'll find me, still hanging around in Calcutta. Good luck you all!
  2. Fixed! Everyday I go through the spreadsheet when I get to work and make sure all is copacetic, just so happens my laptop hard drive broke over the weekend.
  3. Open letter to the next year's Sri Lankan Fulbrighters!: I saw on the spreadsheet that you heard back on April 3. Congratulations! I currently live in Sri Lanka (my girlfriend is a Fulbright researcher here). We're based in Colombo, but know the Fulbrighters: ETA, Researchers, and Scholars, quite well around the country. We've lived here since October, so know the country well. So, if you have any questions about anything Fulbright (finding housing, stipend, conditions, where you may be placed if you're an ETA, finding a job as a dependent/significant other etc) or Sri Lanka related, don't hesitate to email me: otis.andrew@gmail.com and I can put you in touch with the right people, or help. There's a lot to tell. Good luck!
  4. Some information for all the Indian Researches out there: The welcome email you got from USIEF has two dates for the in-country orientation: August 11-14, and July 30-Aug 2. I just contacted USIEF and they told me the conference is August 11-14, NOT July 30-Aug 2. Toodles.
  5. Just laughed out loud so hard. India heard back before Germany, so much for that vaunted German efficiency! Edit: Also people should add/update their information on the spreadsheet!: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1
  6. Got it!--Just woke to te news that I received a Fulbright to research in Kolkata, India!!!!
  7. Hi all, Feeling much better from the 'phoid now. Discharged from the Sri Lankan hospital, pumped full of antibiotics and trying not to vomit everywhere... Ok, I've updated the spreadsheet with recommended and not recommendeds. If someone hasn't posted on the forum since prior to the first round notification, then they're considered "not recommended." If you've found I've edited you in error, please update! At row 200, you'll notice statistics on those accepted/alternate/rejected etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1 herp derp. Good luck!
  8. Would love to add this column but currently in the hospital for what the doctors think is typhoid, so I've been AWOL from maintaining the spreadsheet! Please go ahead and add!
  9. I've added a column to the spreadsheet, "Country Interview Date." When you have your interview, put the date down. It might be cool to see when all interviews were conducted (possibly useful for future years applicants). So for all you UK, Russia and Mexico applicants and others, please go ahead and add! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1
  10. Porshyen, yeah--could definitely be headache, but seems ok so far. I'll go back if it appears to be a headache--luckily I can revert to a previous edition fairly easily if necessary. I've been checking the revision history to make sure all is copacetic. I've also used protected ranges to prevent the older sheets from being edited. If it gets out of hand, I can definitely go back to the old way!
  11. Everyone! I've updated the Fulbright Notifications spreadsheet and now it is available for everyone to edit! So if you haven't already--please add or update your information! (I'll still maintain it and keep it neat) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE&usp=sharing Let's get this rolling. Good luck to everyone during these anxious days!
  12. Hi all, Don't forget to email fulbright2013.2014@gmail.com with your details to add yourself to the google spreadsheet! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1
  13. Hi all, If you've been recommended, update it on the Fulbright spreadsheet! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE Send an email to fulbright2013.2014@gmail.com with all your details. Check out the tabs at the bottom for previous years and when you should expect to hear back. Good luck!!!
  14. Should I remove it from the spreadsheet? What do people think? Any other suggestions?
  15. That's a good question. It's been in previous versions of the spreadsheet. Some countries, I think only the UK and Russia (but I'm not sure about these), require interviews as part of the application process. This column is supposed to address that. I think that you see you many people reply "YES" to the interview column on the spreadsheet because it's been confused for "on campus interviews" for those applying through a University rather than at large.
  16. Here's the link again (It's also in my footer). Fulbright 2013-2014 Notifications: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1
  17. Hi Everyone, In the last 48 hours there have been almost 500 posts on this forum! 490 to be exact. Feel free to add your information to the spreadsheet in case you haven't already: Email: fulbright2013.2014@gmail.com First and Last Name (optional): Username (for gradcafe): At-Large or with University: Country of application: Grant Type: CLEA (Critical Language Enhancement Award (Applied Yes or no): Country Interview (yes or no): Academic Status: Research Topic: Email Address (only if you would like to be contacted by next years applicants, or anyone else who shares your field): Host Affiliation:
  18. With that news, maximum AMEN. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. PS. congrats abelian!
  19. Hi all, just keep in mind that this link is for scholars and may not apply to ETA or researchers. Oh, and here's the google doc spreadsheet again for Fulbright notifications 2013-2014: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE
  20. Any idea how to do that on google docs? Other than using list view, I've no idea
  21. A very informative pdf which I'm sure many of you have seen but I only just discovered: http://us.fulbrightonline.org/uploads/files/brochure/U.S._Student_Brochure_2013-2014.pdf
  22. Well, I've gone ahead and emailed. I don't know if that means I've volunteered. Anywho, perhaps it's best to wait to Jan or, hell, why not now.
  23. Thanks Here'sHopin'!, Yeah, that's the same spreadsheet. I think there was someone who maintained that spreadsheet last year, as I remember my girlfriend, a current fulbrighter, emailing that person to add her information. Till January, then! I just realized that everyone newish to the forums is called "decaf." That was dumb of me.
  24. Hey Decaf, I've also applied for a full research grant to India--based out of Kolkata (to research some dead people in the newspaper industry--Early Press in India and the Bengal Renaissance). What's your proposal? Good luck to you! Speaking of fulbright 2013-2014, does anyone know if we could have a spreadsheet similar to previous years of people who have applied? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AuGpbWEh-3b0dHZzTU1BN0lNLU1yeG5XWktnY2k3bmc How has this been gone about before?
